The Fallen

You didn't known my name
yet, you fought for me just the same.

Someone had to be on the frontline.
You endangered your life for mine.

You were so courageous and brave.
Of yourself, for my freedom, you gave.

You were needed, you heeded the call.
You gave so much, you gave your all.

The price of freedom is not free.
Your courage paid the price for me.

Now, in God's arms you have comfort and rest
because you were America's very best.

I absolutely love this poem, Jan! Makes me sad and proud.

Happy Veteran's Day to all our military personnel and especially to our son, James! We love you!

Peace

Cindy

Thank you Cindy Lou,

It reminds me of the day, I was handed a large folded flag that is given to
the widow of a veteran the day of their funeral. Even though the poem
does not really describe that day.

Blessings Jan

Fine tribute, Jan! So true of all of us!!! All Americans have been given freedom by our service men and women.

As always, I'm a day late and a dollar short, so to speak, but this is beautiful! It makes me proud of the military men and women that serve our country.
A happy belated Veteran's Day to all those that have, do and will...serve this great nation!
Thank you all!

Hi Gigi,

I sure know what you mean by being a dollar short. I don't know anyone who isn't. Glad you like the poem. We owe so much to our troops.

Blessings Jan
