This country was all too trusting,
gave to historical evidence the lie
and failed to heed the warnings
on the pages before Her eyes.

Evil does not sleep
it rests, it plots, it shapes
waiting for a people/country
to make a fool's mistake.

Some good--- however, not of late
has come to Her
from the White Oak state.
How many times must She
be scourged before the lesson takes?

Her body's raw and bloodied
From the whippings She's received
Her strength is slowly ebbing
She'll soon be on Her knees.

America, I'll remember when
You stood proud
from shore to shore
But when the "Change" came into power
You succumbed and were no more!

Thanks Peggy, it may be a "good" poem but it's a sad subject.
