The Scooby Doo Dream Song

Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you
It's time to go to trial now
Come along with me, poor Scooby
You could be locked up for a while now..

That big scary man said you broke a vase!
How could you?
And that little guy with glasses said he saw your face
In retreat,
wearing a sheet..

Oh Scooby Dooby Doo, it's time for you
To call Shaggy to the stand now,
Shaggy, thanks a bunch, when your done with lunch
Won't you raise your right hand, now..

Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth as best you can?
And nothing more
Was it Scooby under the sheet or was it another man?
Than ran out the door
What?
you want the floor..

(and I quote:)
"Well.. like.... Scooby... like... ghost... glaring-eyes.. ZOINKS!!"

Oh Scooby Dooby Doo, I feel sorry for you
You better get Shaggy off the stand now
He says he won't go back without a Scooby snack
Here comes Velma to give you a hand, now..

She says she found the sheet and on it was a smudge!
You don't say..
Its a special type of hair dye used only by the judge!
How cliche,
Don't let him get away!

Ooh Scooby Dooby Doo, congratulations to you
Your looking good up on the Movie screen
You and your friends should be in a Mercedes Benz
But instead your in the Mystery Machine..

I see you wave out the window at me as you go bye!
bye bye
But chasing you down the street is another bad guy
me ooh my,
he only has one eye..

Ooh Scooby Doo you clown, I'll see you around
Because it's bed time for you know who..
As Mom turns out the light, I'll see you tomorrow night
I'll always love you, Scooby Doo..
yes I'll always love you,
my Scooby Doo..

thanks Jan, the challenge was to put a cartoon character on trial.. I was first thinking of Tom & Jerry, but I wanted to keep it "cute" so I thought next of Elmer Fudd on trial for shooting Bugs Bunny.. however, in the end I remembered an open microphone I went to last year where someone played the opening theme song to "Scooby Doo" and it really made me want to research the song and see if I could re-write it into a trial where Scooby is accused of doing something (like breaking a vase)..

your comments are always something I look forward too.. and most times, the only time I reply back to a poem or song.

I am happy that you like my comments.
I have always liked reading your poems, since
the first one I ever read. You are such an excellent writer.
I enjoyed listen to you recite some of your poems,
when you sent me that link.
We go back a longs ways my friend. I have known you longer than anyone
else here at PDB. Take care, my friend.
