Love is--- making up after a disagreement

Love is--- when your breath stops but your heart keeps pumping

Love is--- when s/he can send you heaven or purgatory with a look or a word.

Love is---- wanting the best for the belov-ed and striving you darndest get it for him/her.

Love is--- THE Sacred bond between husband and wife, parents and child(ren).

Here's an old one---- Love is--- never having to say you're sorry

The ultimate of love is--- giving your all, your last full measure of devotion, laying down your life for another.

Sorry, I disagree with never having to say you're sorry.

To me love is, being able to say you're sorry! No one is
perfect, we all mess up, once in a while.

Not Perfect J.J.

For me, love is the readiness to sacrifice everything, being able to overcome most/all obstacles, and the acceptance of one another as they are.

A very good one, Cindy!

Another thing that love is for me, is to pray for my friends!

Love is...............
Looking at that special one and not seeing a single thing that you'd change, even though they are as imperfect as you are. Allowing love to be blind to faults and failures, but to be clear-eyed when it comes to encouraging the best in that special one.

After reading a very good MRI study, I believe romantic love is a powerful drive separate from the sex drive which causes us to be willing to die for a loved one. I don't have much of any idea what triggers this, but it might be tied to propagation of the species. I do know that when it happens feelings are much more intense. We're euphoric sometimes and sometimes we're filled with despair. I'm in love, and I'm faithful and want to be with my beloved as much or more than is possible. At the risk of being teased, I have to add that the most appealing aspect of my beloved is his eyes, for from my point of view they are the windows to his soul. If you're interested, I wrote a review of my favorite love poem "The Buried Life" and posted it in the Review Forum. Every one of my posts on this site ends with the last 3 lines of that poem, " Then he thinks he knows/ The hills where his life rose/ And the sea where it goes."

Peggy

Not Perfect J.J.

"Love is never having to say you're sorry" means to me anyway that it is perfect. It doesn't take away the ability to SAY that one is sorry just the reason for having to say it. John Wayne had a similar line in "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" Never apologize Mister, it's a sign" of weakness" meaning as I took to mean; never do anything that you have to apologize for.
If the "act"isn't done, the word isn't spoken, if the "hurt" doesn't happen than one has no need to apologize.
It may a sentiment impossible to "live up to" but by the Eternal J.J. it's one worth striving for--- Just my thoughts on the subject is all.

Oh my,

I am really enjoying these stupendously impressive replies.
These are not spontaneous answers. I can see that you both have
put a lot of thought into them. I am so glad that you have.

This is a topic that has many opinions. I am pleased that so many
are expressing their's. I looked up types of love and found anywhere
from 3 to 9 different types. Please continue to express your opinions.
I am really enjoying your thoughts.

Blessings Jan
